NASHCO HAND-PAINTED SOUVENIR TRAY
- Striking white and gray blooms decorate this vintage black toleware tray, a souvenir from Edgewater Park, Mississippi
Manufactured by Nashco Products, the matte black tray features unusual hand-painted flowers, green leaves, a rolled rim and gold trim
The E.T. Nash Company ( N.Y. 3, N.Y.) produced numerous hand-painted metal trays from the 1920's on
Labeled as "Chip and Alcohol Resistant, "
they were quite popular in the 1950's not only as a memento of a vacation or trip but also for offering drinks and appetizers to guests; often used as wall-decorations Originally priced at $1.25 (see bottom composite photo, left)
- The tray measures approximately 11 inches in diameter and is in pretty good condition, age and use consistent; the original foil label is present
However, there are some light scratches, nicks, etc. on the front plus a slight dent (see arrow, bottom composite photo)
In addition, the back is lightly scratched with areas of light pitting (perhaps paint corrosion ?)
