"BIRCH  IN  THE  WIND"    PARAGON CREWEL STITCHERY KIT
FABRIC,  INSTRUCTIONS  &   SOME  YARN

  • PARTIAL vintage creative crewel stitchery kit #0412 from Paragon Needlecraft bears an old Marshall Field's price label
  • Designed by Carol and Don Henning, the picture features a wind-blown birch in a field of grass, wildflowers and weeds; a flock of birds heads south for the winter
See design detail in photo above scanned from the instruction sheet
  • When completed, the stitched project will fit an 19" x 25" frame

  • According to the package , the kit should contain:  stamped picture on superb Homespun (75% rayon / 25% cotton ) fabrics (2 pieces: large Med. Blue & small Olive Green) and 100% pure wool yarns, needle, complete easy-to-follow instructions and diagram including most popular stitches
HOWEVER, it appears that a portion of the yarn has been purloined.   Wool yarn is readily available at most needlecraft stores
  • It is suggested that the fabric should be stretched either onto the frame that will be used, onto an embroidery frame or on stretcher strips (two 19" and two 25" stretcher strips are required)
NOTE:  Picture frame, embroidery frame or stretcher strips  ARE  NOT  INCLUDED

  • Previously opened kit package with wear, flaws etc. to plastic bag, stains & debris on instructions, tape residue etc.etc. plus the missing yarn
See composite photo below showing package front and back (apologies for glare off plastic bag)
